GLEEPS

Bell Work - on white boards.
  In  groups of two answer the following question on a white board:
      From the data hunt yesterday, 16 people had the dominate gene that allows them to curl their tongue.  Only 2 did not.  Why?  
  • Write a 1 to 2 sentence explanation using the vocab from yesterday.  
  • At the end of activity you will have a chance to change your answers.  
  • You will share out your answers to the class.
Notebook check has been moved to Monday (because I am nice).  It is on pages 96-101!!!!

Objective today:
   In groups of 2 you will use GLEEPS (beans) to predict the inheritance of traits.  
  •   Tape the worksheets on pages 117 and 118.
 
Answer the following question: 

One cat carries heterozygous, long-haired traits (Ss), and its mate carries homozygous short-haired traits (ss). Use a Punnett square to determine the probability of one of their offspring having long hair.
