- DON'T FREAK OUT
- Fix all of your assignments that need fixing by Friday Dec 13th
- I will be available in my room during lunch and advisory through Friday.
- All of the Adaptive Curriculum assignments (except for "Cell Transport" & "Respiration & photosynthesis") have been reassigned as needed. If you don't like a quiz grade, you can re-do it. Please fill out the form below when you finish an assessment (this will make it so much easier to update the gradebook regularly)

Happy Thanksgiving Break
Today there is a lot of clean up to do
- last observation of plates (make sure you are writing your observations in your data table)
- put plates into bleach water in the sink to clean
- last observation of egg
- Observe the egg (measure and record mass) as well as the water it is in -- is there more or less water, what does it look like?
- put egg into ziploc baggie to dispose of, clean beaker and put away
- General clean up of your area

- The plastic baggie was permeable to which substance?
- Is the plastic baggie selectively permeable?
- Sketch the cup and baggie as part of your conclusion paragraph. Use arrows to illustrate how diffusion occurred in this lab.
- What would happen if you did an experiment in which the iodine solution was placed in the baggie, and the starch solution was in the beaker? Be detailed in your description.
5 second rule pt 2 update
Your second run at the 5 second rule should go on pgs 92-95
Please remember to follow the lab rubric for all of the parts of the lab. I will be carefully reading all conclusions for this lab and grading according to the rubric.
This will be graded after Thanksgiving break (so you have break to write your conclusion)

Laura's experiment
Before we run our experiment, let's look at another bacterial experiment.
What can you learn from Laura's experiment? How might you change your experiment because of what you have learned?
Laura's experiment goes on pg 88, your answers on pg 89
It might be helpful to draw a picture of the data (6 circles to represent the petri dishes)

5 second rule re-do
Now that you have something growing, what conclusions can you actually draw? (write your conclusion on pg 87 -- remember to use the rubric)
If you could do it over, would you change your procedures?
Guess what? We get to do it again!! :)
Edit and revise your procedures as needed. Do you want to team up with another group? What might be the benefits or draw backs of having a larger group?
